A custodial wallet is a wallet in which your private keys are stored by a third party. the advantage of using a custodial wallet is that you can manage your funds very quickly and at any time when there is an Internet connection; You’d be able to recover account access and your funds if you forgot your password to your wallet.
Ａnon-custodial wallet allows you to fully control your assets and therefore are more secure. You are in total control of your wallet and assets. If you lose your recovery password your wallet access and your funds will be lost forever.
Blocto supports custodial and non-custodial modes.
Custodial mode:
Blocto server manages the private keys for you. allows you to log in and interact with the blockchain via Email without risking losing your private key.
Non custodial mode:
You can switch to "non-custodial mode" by going to "security" under the "setting" tab.
You will receive your private key in an encrypted JSON file. Blocto will not be able to restore the account for you if you lose access to or forgot your recovery password.
